February 02, 2007
LG recently announced that it has rolled out a new chip based on DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) technology, allowing mobile devices to play real-time TV programs for four consecutive hours. With advantages of lower power consumption and better viewing quality, if this new chip is embedded on mobile phones, users can receive current traffic information and view two TV channels at once on their mobile phones, with the support of TPEG (Transport Protocol Expert Group) technology and BIFS (Binary Format for Scenes) technology, respectively.
